Features

Everything the bar needs in one till

Built for the everyday bar — quick to set up, quick to serve, easy to cash up.

👆

Tap-to-order

A clean, button-per-drink screen so staff ring up a round in a few taps. No hunting through menus, no fiddly typing — the queue moves and the next customer is served.

🍹

Drink menu management

Build your menu of pints, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks and snacks. Group items, set prices, add a quick photo or colour, and update everything yourself in seconds when prices change.

📦

Stock tracking

Set opening stock and let every sale count down automatically. See what is running low, flag wastage and comps, and reconcile bottles and kegs against the till at the end of the night.

💰

Live revenue

Takings update on the manager's dashboard as drinks are poured. See the running total, best sellers and busiest periods without cashing up first — from behind the bar or your phone.

💳

Cash + card

Take chip and PIN, contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and still ring up cash sales. Split the bill, give change, and keep card and cash totals separated automatically for the cash-up.

👥

Staff accounts

Give each bartender their own login with the right permissions. See who took what, restrict refunds and voids to supervisors, and add or remove casual staff before a busy night in moments.

Story 2 · For staff at the bar

Saturday night at the bar

Tap a pint. Tap crisps. Pick a wine size. Take the cash. Print the receipt. Stock counts itself. Same till on a phone, a tablet or a counter screen.

The everyday bar

A till built for the bar, not a warehouse

Whether it is the members' bar at a football club, the bar at a music venue, or a pop-up at a one-off event, ApexGo gives you a quick, dependable till that anyone can pick up in minutes.

Most bar software is either a stripped-back card-reader app that cannot really run a service, or a heavyweight hospitality system built for a restaurant chain with table plans, kitchen printers and a price tag to match. The bar at a club or venue sits in between. It needs to move a queue quickly on a match day or gig night, take card and cash without fuss, keep prices straight, and tell the manager how the night is going — and it needs to do all of that without weeks of setup or a full-time till administrator.

That is exactly what ApexGo's bar POS is for. It is the same till our organisers use to sell drinks at clubs and venues across the country, and it is designed around the realities of a busy bar: staff who change shift to shift, a menu that shifts with the seasons, a cash drawer that still has to balance, and a manager who wants to know the takings before they have finished counting them.

Who it is for

The bar POS suits any organiser running a bar as part of their wider operation, including:

  • Clubs — the clubhouse or members' bar that opens on match days, training nights and for private hire.
  • Venues — music venues, theatres, community halls and social clubs serving drinks before, during and after events.
  • One-off events — a single bar at a fundraiser, awards night, beer festival, wedding or seasonal pop-up.

If you are running a large temporary site with many bars and food stalls scattered across a field — the kind that needs offline resilience and multiple outlets — that is a different shape of problem, and our festival POS software is built for it. This page is about the everyday bar: one counter, a couple of staff, and a need to serve fast and cash up cleanly.

Speed at the bar

Get the round in, get the queue moving

Every second at the till is a second the queue is not. The whole interface is built to take an order in as few taps as possible.

When the final whistle blows or the support act finishes, the bar gets hit all at once. The single biggest thing a bar till can do for your takings is shorten the time each customer spends at the counter. ApexGo's order screen is a grid of large, clearly labelled buttons — one tap per drink — so a bartender can ring a round of four and take payment without ever leaving the main screen.

Built around real service

  • Quantity in one tap. Tap a drink twice for two, three times for three — no separate quantity box to fumble with.
  • Favourites up front. Put your fastest-moving lines — house lager, the popular spirit and mixer, soft drinks — where thumbs land first.
  • Clear the sale fast. Take the payment, the screen resets, and the next customer is already being served.
  • More than one till. Open the same menu on a second tablet for a busy night, then close it again when the rush is over.

Because the till runs in the browser on hardware you already own, spinning up an extra serving point for a big fixture or a sold-out gig is as simple as opening the page on another tablet and logging in. There is nothing to install and no per-device licence to buy.

Menu, stock & money

Your menu, your prices, your stock under control

Keep the drink list accurate, watch the cellar count down, and take payment any way your customers want to pay.

Manage the menu yourself

You build and own the drink menu. Add pints, spirits, cocktails, wine, soft drinks and bar snacks, sort them into sections like Draught, Spirits and Soft, and set the price for each. When a guest ale comes on, a supplier price goes up, or a line sells out, you change it yourself and it takes effect immediately — no support ticket, no waiting. For one-off events you can stand up a short, focused menu in minutes and archive it once the night is done.

Stock and wastage control

Pour-by-pour, the till knows what you sold, so it can tell you what you have left. Set your opening figures and watch kegs, bottles and cases count down through the night. Record wastage, spillage, breakages and staff drinks separately so they do not look like missing stock, then reconcile the physical count against sales at close. Over a few sessions that turns into a clear picture of what actually sells, what ties up cash on the shelf, and where stock is quietly going astray.

Take payment every way

Customers expect to tap a card or a phone, and plenty still pay cash. ApexGo handles both. Connect a supported card reader for contactless, chip and PIN, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and ring up cash sales on the same till with change calculated for you. Card and cash totals stay separated automatically, which is what makes the end-of-night cash-up quick rather than a guessing game. Card payments carry the standard 1% + 10p fee and settle to your own bank account; cash carries no fee.

One platform

Bar takings and door takings, side by side

Because the bar runs on the same ApexGo account as your ticketing, the money from the door and the money from the bar finally live in one place.

For most clubs and venues, the bar is only half the story — the other half is the door. When ticketing and the bar sit in separate systems, you spend the morning after stitching two sets of figures together to work out whether the night actually paid. ApexGo removes that step. The same account that sells your tickets, season passes and memberships also runs the bar till, so a single dashboard shows you ticket revenue and bar revenue together, event by event.

What that gives you

  • One true number per event. Door plus bar plus any merch, in a single figure, without exporting two reports and adding them up.
  • Live visibility for the manager. Watch takings build in real time from behind the bar, the office or your phone — no need to cash up first to know how the night is going.
  • One supplier, one fee, one payout. No second contract, no juggling a separate hospitality vendor alongside your ticketing provider.
  • Spend that follows the audience. See how bar takings track against attendance so you can staff and stock the bigger nights properly.

What it costs and how to start

Getting started is free. The Starter plan is £0, so you can build your menu and run the till at no upfront cost — you simply pay 1% + 10p on each card transaction, with cash sales carrying no fee. Growing organisers who want more can move to Essentials at £49/mo or Pro at £99/mo, with Enterprise available for larger operations. There are no contracts and you can cancel any time. Sign up free, add your drinks, connect a card reader, and you can be serving on a tablet you already own — then watch the takings come in live. For ticketing and door sales on the same account, see our venue ticketing software, or check the full pricing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What devices or hardware do I need to run the bar till?

ApexGo runs in the browser on any modern device — a tablet, laptop, phone or all-in-one till — so you can use kit you already own. Add a card reader, receipt printer and cash drawer if you want them, but a single tablet is enough to start serving.

How do card payments work and when do I get paid out?

Connect a supported card reader and take contactless, chip and PIN, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Card takings are settled to your own bank account on a regular payout schedule, with the 1% + 10p platform fee applied per transaction. Cash sales carry no fee.

Can I build and edit the drink menu myself?

Yes. You create the full menu — pints, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks, snacks — group items into sections and set prices yourself. Changes save instantly, so you can adjust a price, add a guest ale or hide a sold-out line in the middle of service without calling support.

Does it track stock and wastage?

It does. Enter opening stock and every sale counts it down automatically, so you can see what is low and reorder in good time. Record wastage, breakages and staff comps separately, then reconcile physical stock against sales at the end of the night to spot any shortfall.

How does cash handling and the end-of-night cash-up work?

The till keeps a running cash and card total throughout the shift. At close, run an end-of-night report showing expected cash in the drawer, card takings and total revenue, count the float against it, and export the figures. Per-staff and per-session breakdowns make discrepancies easy to find.

Can I set staff accounts and permissions?

Yes. Each bartender gets their own login, and sales are logged against them. You decide who can process refunds, void items, open the drawer or change prices, keeping those to supervisors and managers. Adding a casual for one busy night, then removing access after, takes seconds.
